CLAWING ON.

Much like his professional golf, stand-up comedy, lead guitarist, latte artist, and hatmaker careers, Rik has been handsomely rewarded for his thirty years of writing…with pats on the back. Then he got an agent and was hired to write a script, so he built this website to make himself look scary and cool. Instead, it conveys a strong sense of overwhelm, which is more accurate given the number of concepts and characters and topics crawling out of his head.

Rik writes about serious things through characters who aren’t always so serious because that’s how life works. Sometimes you have to use a sock puppet to explain why Fluffy is no longer with us. Sometimes you turn to fiction to ask questions you’re too scared to ask. And sometimes you have to just smile in the dark.

Originally from the Midwest, Rik lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two crazy kids who are the best kind of overwhelming. Making them proud is why he hopes his stories might mean something to someone someday.
